MIAMI – June 10, 2024 – Doma Title Insurance, Inc. has appointed Dereck Allen as Assistant Vice President, Regional Agency Manager for its Texas region. In this role, he will provide underwriting and business operations support for the company’s independent agency base in Texas, as well as lead Doma’s local agency managers in recruiting new independent agents and nurturing existing agent relationships.
With more than 25 years of experience in title insurance and settlement operations, Allen rose from his initial position as office manager for a title insurance office to become president of Texas operations for a national title and settlement services company.
“Dereck has a rare combination of both sales and operations experience that is going to be of tremendous help to our agents in Texas,” said Rich Griffin, Senior Vice President of Agency for Doma Title Insurance. “His expertise in managing operations across multiple states – including growing revenue, making process improvements and leading the charge in strategic planning – is a goldmine of wisdom our agents can mine to grow their agencies in the coming years.”
Allen’s operational experience covers the gamut of managing P&L and budgets for individual offices as well as entire territories; developing new ancillary products to enhance bottom-line profits; assisting with the successful navigation of the 2008 financial crisis for his region; and creating training manuals to enhance the onboarding process for new hires.
“I have worked with many underwriters over the years, and I understand the value they can bring to an agent to help them be successful,” Allen said. “An underwriter is actually an extension of the agent’s business, and the more we understand the agent’s operations and aspirations, the more effectively we can help them grow. I intend to focus on enhancing customer service, driving innovation and promoting collaboration to help improve agent performance across the board.

Allen earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and real estate from Texas Tech University.
